  • By August 31, the Migrant MATES will strive to achieve the following:                                               -Tutored students will achieve at least one of four academic goals by the end of the school year: Graduate from high school or earn a GED; Improve grades in Language Arts and/or Math; Move up one level on State Tests.                          -AMC members will demonstrate improvements in skills and knowledge related to leadership, tutoring and migrant services.      -Recruite at least 40 community volunteers to provide short-term service in the Reading is Fundamental (RIF) during the program year.              -Out-of-School Youth mentored by and serving alongside the Americorps Members will return to school and graduate or earn their GEDs .
 *Note:  Participants receive $2,363 educational award at end of service (one year)                                       

Every member if eligible is allowed to serve for two years.
